Truck Fill Stations

Exciting changes to the Truckfill Stations

We're making it easier to access bulk water. Fast. Simple. Your choice.

Starting now, there are two ways to pay for water:

  1. Tap your credit/debit card or use your mobile wallet (Apple, Google, Samsung) at the truckfill
  2. Use a prepaid fob (swap out your current fobs for a new one at no charge at our office)
    1. You will first need to create an account here, then come into our Lethbridge office to get your new fob.
    2. The “old” fobs will remain active until June 1, when they will be decommissioned and no longer function.

Learn more about each payment method in the FAQs below.

Stay tuned to this webpage, County social media and the County Insider for updates.

Protecting our treated water supply

Lethbridge County’s bulk water stations provide domestic treated water meant for household use.

To keep this system clean and safe for everyone:

  • Use only clean tanks that have never been used for chemicals, pesticides, or any non-potable liquids.
  • 🚫 Filling spray tanks or applicator equipment is not allowed—even if rinsed.
  • 💧 It’s your responsibility to ensure your tank is clean before filling.
  • ❌ Contaminating this facility may result in loss of access.

Thank you for doing your part to protect our water supply.

FAQs

The Computrol system is outdated and costly to maintain, plus it’s not the most convenient for truckfill users. By switching to the new system, we can offer versatile payment options and eliminate mailed invoices, ultimately saving time and money for both the County and taxpayers.

There are now two ways to pay:

1. Credit/Debit Card or Mobile Wallet (Apple, Google, Samsung)

  • Tap your card or mobile device at the truckfill station before you begin filling.
  • Wait for transaction approval, then start filling.
  • Press the “X” on the screen when finished to end your transaction.
  • No printed receipts are available with this method. If you need a record of your usage, consider using a prepaid fob.

2. Prepaid Fobs

Prepay via an online account:

  1. Create an account at lethcounty.ca/p/truck-fill-stations.
  2. Check your email (including spam or junk folders) for a message from “Text2Car,” which will include a link, username, and password to access your account.
  3. Add funds to your account (using the same email address you used to sign up) through our online payment webpage
    1. Funds can also be added in person at our Lethbridge office (cash, debit).
  4. Obtain a new fob at our Lethbridge office. You do not need to fund your account before getting the fob, but your account must have funds before you can fill up at the station.
    1. If you have a fob from our “old” system, swap it out at our office for no charge.

When you fill up using a fob, you will receive an emailed receipt showing the volume used and your remaining balance. You’ll also get a low-balance email prompting you to top up before your next fill.

Billing is done in litres not gallons like our previous system.

Note: After June 1, 2025, we will no longer send mailed invoices. All water must be prepaid through a credit/debit card/mobile wallet onsite or via your fob account.

One email address = one account = one fob

  • Each account can have only one fob assigned
  • If you need multiple fobs (for different trucks, drivers or family members), each fob will need its own account with a unique email address.
  • You can pay for each account with the same credit card, but you must make separate online payments to allocate funds to each account.
  • Treat your fob like cash—anyone who finds it can use it.
  • If it’s lost or stolen, call the County immediately at 403.328.5525 so we can deactivate it.
  • Any remaining balance on a lost fob can be transferred to a new fob.
  • New fobs can be purchased for $50.
  • Detailed payment and usage data is only available through the fob system. These records can be accessed in your online account.
  • No receipts are provided if you pay onsite with a debit/credit card/mobile wallet.

For any questions about refunds or unused account balances, please contact the County office at 403.328.5525.

  • If you lose a fob, contact us immediately at 403.328.5525 so we can deactivate it.
  • For truckfill station issues or technical problems, call 403.328.5525.

Thank you for your patience as we improve our bulk water stations and enhance the customer experience for everyone.
