Please be advised that after the Public Hearing held on April 3, 2025, County Council proceeded with 2nd and 3rd reading of Bylaw 25-003, approving the redesignation of Plan 2410658 Block 5 Lot 1 in the NE 19-10-23-W4 from Rural Agriculture to Direct Control. The rezoning will allow for the operation of the Country Side Event Barn on the property

The rezoning will allow for a retail store (not-for-profit) on the property and modify some of the setback requirements

There will be a Public Hearing on May 1, 2025 for Bylaw 25-007

What is the Bylaw 25-007 about?

Bylaw 25-007 will consider the rezoning of a portion of Plan 1910749 Block 1 Lot 9 in the NE 25-10-22-W4 from Urban Fringe to Hamlet Industrial. The parcel is located west of HWY 25 nest to the Hamlet of Shaughnessy. See a map.

The intent of the rezoning is to allow the future subdivision and development of the area for industrial purposes.  The bylaw will also adjust the Hamlet of Shaughnessy boundary to include the Hamlet Industrial lands .  A copy of the bylaw and application can be viewed at the Lethbridge County Office during regular business hours.

How do I provide input?

Input can be given on the proposed Bylaw at the Public Hearing on May 1, 2025.   Anyone wishing to provide written comments is encouraged to contact the County no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 23, 2025.

There will be a Public Hearing on May 1, 2025 for Bylaw 25-008

What is the Bylaw 25-008 about?

Bylaw 25-008 proposed to repeal Bylaw 1481 being the Meadowscape Area Structure Plan, located in the SW-15-9-22-W4M. 

The reason for the application is that the impacted landowners have decided to not proceed in subdividing and developing the lands into County Residential parcels as described in the Meadowscape Area Structure Plan. 

A copy of the bylaw and application can be viewed at the Lethbridge County Office during regular business hours.

There will be a Public Hearing on May 1, 2025 for Bylaw 25-009

What is the Bylaw 25-009 about?

Bylaw 25-009 will consider the rezoning of Plan 2210953 Block 2 Lot 2 in the SW-15-9-22-W4M from Grouped Country Residential to Urban Fringe.  The parcel is located along Township Road 9-2 between Range Road 22-3 and HWY 25 as shown on the map. See a map.

The intent of the rezoning is to return the land to the original Urban Fringe District and allow for development as per the Urban Fringe District uses.  A copy of the bylaw and application can be viewed at the Lethbridge County Office during regular business hours

There will be a Public Hearing on May 1, 2025 for Bylaw 25-010

What is the Bylaw 25-010 about?

Bylaw 25-010 will consider the rezoning of portions of the SW 30-8-22-W4M, NE 25-8-23-W4M and NW 30-8-22-W4M from Urban Fringe to Direct Control.  The municipal address for the property is 225058 Township Road 8-5 as shown on the map below. See a map.

The intent of the rezoning is to allow for cultivation of cannabis, a cannabis nursery/greenhouse, and cannabis processing on the property.  These uses are not currently allowed within the Urban Fringe District, and the rezoning is required if the applicant wants to engage in those pursuits.

There will be a Public Hearing on May 15, 2025 for Bylaw 25-005

What is the Bylaw 25-005 about?

Lethbridge County Bylaw No. 25-005 and Town of Nobleford Bylaw No. 707 are to update the land use maps to align the municipal boundary of the Town of Nobleford to conform with the most recent annexation (December 2024) of lands Lot 1, Block 33, Plan 2312047 brought into the Town. The Town will have their public hearing Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m.

A copy of the proposed amending bylaws to the Intermunicipal Development Plan may be inspected at the Lethbridge County office or Town of Nobleford office during normal business hours.

There will be a Public Hearing on May 15, 2025 for Bylaw 25-011

What is the Bylaw 25-011 about?

Lethbridge County Bylaw No. 25-011 and Town of Nobleford Bylaw No. 708 are to amend the Planning Area 4 map (map 10) and Core Area Concept plan to provide for the potential to develop a rural light industrial use within a portion of the SW 15-11-23-W4M on Lot 2, Block 1, Plan 0815575 23-W4M situated to the north of the Town of Nobleford, and as outlined in policies 5.3.35 and 5.3.36. The Town will have their public hearing Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m.
