*NEW* in 2025
Alberta's Municipal Affairs made several changes to the Local Authorities Election Act and the Municipal Government Act in 2024. These changes will impact both voters and candidates alike.
This year, you will have to register to vote in the municipal election. The voter list is based on the existing provincial list. Instructions on how to check if you are registered, as well as how to register if your name is not already on the list, will be available in early 2025.
Important dates:
- Nomination period: Wednesday, January 1, 2025 - 12 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2025
- Nomination Day: Monday, September 22, 2025 (This is the last day you can file nomination papers. Papers must be filed by 12 p.m.)
- Advance Vote: TBD (Lethbridge County Admin Office)
- Voting Day: Monday, October 20, 2025, locations TBD
