Temporary sewer disruptions in Shaughnessy start Oct 6
As part of the County’s Capital Budget, we are currently rehabilitating sewer pipes in Shaughnessy. This project will require some residents and businesses to stop water usage during construction.
Work will run October 6-9 and October 14-21 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and each day affects a different area. During the work periods, sewer services will not be available to properties in that area. The contractor requires residents:
- Avoid flushing toilets, taking showers or having baths
- Delay doing laundry or dishes
- Ensure leaky faucets and toilets are not running
- Do not let water softeners complete a “regeneration” cycle
It’s extremely important to not use any water on your area’s scheduled date to avoid backup of sewer water into your home or business. The best way to prepare is to turn off the main water valve to the property and flush all toilets before the specified time.
