Unofficial Election Results Announced in Lethbridge County
The unofficial results for elections in Division 6 and 7 have been announced.
Division 6:
- Eric Van Essen –152 votes
- William Raats – 91 votes
Division 7:
- Tony Ankermann – 76 votes
- Morris Zeinstra – 20 votes
Voters in both Divisions had two opportunities to cast their ballots. An Advance Vote was held on Saturday, October 18 at the Shaughnessy (Division 6) and Turin (Division 7) community halls, and General Election Day voting was held on Monday, October 20 at the same locations.
Results are not official until Friday, October 24 at 12:00 noon.
Background:
Division 6 is located north of Lethbridge and includes the Hamlet of Shaughnessy. Division 7 is in the northeastern portion of Lethbridge County and includes the Hamlets of Iron Springs and Turin.
The candidates for Divisions 1 through 5 were all acclaimed, therefore no election was required in these areas.
