What are Bylaws 24-002 and 24-003 About?

Bylaw 24-002 is the Chin Grouped Country Residential Area Structure Plan which intends to provide a framework for the future subdivision and development of the subject parcels for country residential development.  

Bylaw 24-003 will consider the rezoning of a portion of the 40 acre parcel from Rural Urban Fringe to Grouped Country Residential and Business Light industrial. The intent of the rezoning would allow for the subdivision and development of the parcel as per the Chin Grouped Country Residential Area Structure Plan. View a map of the area. 

A copy of the proposed Area Structure Plan and rezoning application can be found on the County’s website at https://lethcounty.ca/p/area-structure-plans or can be viewed at the Lethbridge County office.

How do I provide input on the proposed bylaws?

Input can be given on the proposed bylaws at the Public Hearing on May 16, 2024. Anyone wishing to provide written comments is encouraged to contact the County no later than 4:30 pm on May 8, 2024.

What is Bylaw 24-004 about?

Bylaw 24-004 will consider the rezoning of Plan 1611089 Block 1 Lot 1 and Plan 1611089 Block 2 Lot 1 comprising of 320 acres, from Rural Urban Fringe (RUF) to Direct Control (D.C). The properties are located south of Highway 509 along Range Road 22-5.

The Intent of the rezoning is to allow for a future mixed use development that would includes a Casino/Conference Centre Area, Residential Area, Commercial Area and a Light Industrial Area. A copy of the bylaw and application can be viewed at the Lethbridge County Office (#100, 905-4 Avenue South, Lethbridge) during regular business hours, or you can view it online.
