Fire & Smoke Regulations


Prevention and Control of Fires within Lethbridge County can be enforced under Bylaw No. 1424. This bylaw is for the prevention or the extinguishing of fires, the preservation of life and property, the protection of persons from injury or destruction by fire and provides the Municipality authority to establish a system of licenses, permits or approvals within Lethbridge County. Please refer to the actual Fire Permit Bylaw No. 1424

Reporting a Problem

Fines for violations of these regulations range between $100 and $10,000. A notice of form (commonly called a violation ticket) may be issued by any Council appointed policing agent to any person charged with a breach of any provisions of this By-Law and the applicable Acts shall apply in regards to the payment.
