Epcor is the electricity provider for Lethbridge County and the distributor is Fortis. The customer is responsible for all downstream electrical facilities and equipment.

Natural Gas

The natural gas provider for Lethbridge County is Direct Energy and the distributor is Atco. Rates depend on the type of contract a customer enters into. More information on Alberta’s natural gas system is available at http://www.ucahelps.gov.ab.ca/.

Solid Waste Disposal

Most hamlets within the County can access street side garbage pick-up (please review the Schedule of Fees for rates).  There are also four transfer station sites where County residents and businesses can haul their garbage at no cost. Approximately two per cent of property taxes are assessed to the Lethbridge Regional Waste Management Commission to operate the transfer stations. All garbage is hauled to the Lethbridge Regional Landfill, operated by the City of Lethbridge. There is also a burn pit located in Iron Springs for safe disposal of wood and trees. Private containerized collection service contractors include BFI, Laidlaw and National Salvage.
