PSA- Citizens and Businesses Asked to Follow Proper Snow Clearing Practices

Post Date:12/13/2019 10:18 AM
LETHBRIDGE COUNTY– Due to recent snow accumulations, the Lethbridge County Public Works department has been busy clearing snow from the County’s 1,950 kms of paved and gravel roads. Operators are noticing several instances of snow that has been pushed from private property into County right of ways and ditches. This poses a safety hazard for crews tasked with clearing the roads. The piles of snow can freeze quickly and become difficult for plow operators to remove, and obstructions in right of ways can be difficult to see in snowy conditions.

Lethbridge County Bylaw #1453 (Highway Protection Bylaw) prohibits snow or any other obstruction from being placed on County roads or in ditches. All snow should be piled on your property.

Lethbridge County thanks citizens and businesses for their cooperation in helping to keep the County safe for everyone.
