Release- Lethbridge County to Begin Live-Streaming and Recording Council Meetings October 18

Post Date:10/17/2018 1:11 PM
LETHBRIDGE COUNTY– Lethbridge County Council meetings will be available to view online beginning on Thursday, October 18, 2018. The announcement comes following a recommendation from the 2018 Communications Survey Report, where survey participants indicated they would be interested in viewing a live-stream or recording of Council meetings. Approval for Administration to proceed with live-streaming and recording meetings was passed by Council at the August 16, 2018 meeting.

“By live-streaming and recording Council meetings, we are making the decision-making process more visible and accessible to our citizens,” says Reeve Lorne Hickey. “This is just another way in which we can ensure open and transparent government.”

“Keeping citizens informed is a priority for both Council and Administration,” says Chief Administrative Officer Ann Mitchell. “Live-streaming will ensure that more people have access to the issues discussed in these meetings.”

The October 18, 2018 meeting will commence at 9:00 am.

Live-streaming will be available on the County’s Facebook page during Council meetings at https://www.facebook.com/LethCounty and the recorded video will be available at http://lethcounty.ca/government/council-meeting-video following the conclusion of the meeting.
