PSA- Safe Driving Practices During Harvest

Post Date:10/12/2018 2:34 PM
LETHBRIDGE COUNTY– Lethbridge County wishes to remind those farming and driving within the County about potential road hazards as harvest time is in operation and farm traffic has increased.

The recent wet conditions have caused an increase of mud in fields and other areas that is easily collected on vehicles and farming equipment. This debris is causing safety concerns on roads as there is increased potential for collisions. The County asks the farming community to be aware of mud on equipment and to take steps to ensure roads are kept clear for the safety of other drivers. Washing equipment prior to using the road can help minimize the amount of mud deposited on roads.

Motorists are also advised to be diligent while travelling on roads and highways during harvest time. Be patient when you encounter slow-moving farm equipment and be aware of debris in your path.

Lethbridge County thanks road users for their cooperation and wishes the farming community a safe and successful harvest season.
