Update to Monarch Reservoir and Pump System
LETHBRIDGE COUNTY– Citizens of Monarch and Lethbridge County will soon have access to the new reservoir and pump system located in the hamlet. The project is well underway, with completion scheduled for mid-September.
The above ground water tank has been constructed and will provide citizens with domestic potable water as well as adequate firefighting capacity. Once completed, the location of the new truck fill station will eliminate the need for heavy trucks or water haulers to use the hamlet roadways to access water.
Once completed, this project will provide residents with high-quality potable water, and a system that can better manage emergency situations and water storage. The truck fill station will also provide convenient access to potable water.
Funded in part by a federal grant (the Government of Canada’s Clean Water and Wastewater Fund), the reservoir and pump system will not only impact quality of life for residents, but it will also have a significant economic impact on the area. The completion of this project will allow existing and future residents to develop properties knowing new infrastructure is in place that can accommodate a growing community. The economic benefits will be long lasting and will serve to enhance and meet future economic demands of the growing community.
