PSA: Information on Flooding Concerns in Lethbridge County

Post Date:03/27/2018 1:08 PM
LETHBRIDGE COUNTY- Due to the heavy amount of snowfall this winter and recent warm temperatures, there has been melting of snow and ice across Lethbridge County. Municipal Services has been monitoring conditions and responding to some incidents of localized flooding. As temperatures are expected to drop over the week and into the weekend, we do not anticipate major or widespread flooding.

Landowners are asked not to take measures like excavating or pumping as this may cause issues for other landowners.

If your property is experiencing localized flooding, please call Lethbridge County at (403) 328-5525 and note the following details for staff:

-Your name and contact information
-Your land location and municipal address
-The nearest intersection to your location (range road and township road)
-The nature of your concern and pertinent details
-The degree of severity of flooding
-If property damage is imminent
-If water has washed over the road

For after-hours concerns, call (403) 328-5525 and follow the voice prompts. Please do not message the County on social media (Facebook/Twitter) for public works emergencies as these accounts are not monitored 24/7.

Public works crews will continue to work diligently to mitigate flooding and will monitor conditions throughout this week and the weekend.
