Road Ban Order 02/18 begins March 23 at 12:00 p.m.
LETHBRIDGE COUNTY- As of 12:00 p.m. on March 23, 2018, Lethbridge County will implement Road Ban Order 02/18, which includes additions from Road Ban Order 01/18 that was implemented today (March 22). Citizens should be aware of the affected roads and maximum allowable weights, and can visit the Lethbridge County website (www.lethcounty.ca) for an updated list of the 2018 road bans.
Operators holding road use permits under Policy 352 should be aware that seasonal bans are in place and supersede the unrestricted loading as detailed in their permit. Any operators who are located on Banned Roads and exporting products out of Canada may apply for exemption under an Export Permit at the Picture Butte County Shop (403) 732-5333.
Both the province and surrounding municipalities implement road bans when the roads are most vulnerable in an attempt to maintain an acceptable and safe level of service for these types of roads and reduce the amount of damage caused by loading during periods when the road is susceptible.
