Bylaw 1492 - Proposed Amendments to the LC Land Use Bylaw

Bylaw 1492, being an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw 1404, was given First Reading on Thursday, March 16, 2017.

The purpose of the proposed Bylaw 1492 is to consider amendments to the Lethbridge County Land Use Bylaw – Bylaw 1404. Highlights of the proposed amendments include (but are not limited to):

  • Remove the Coaldale Lethbridge Corridor Land Use District
  • Add regulations for development and subdivision in proximity to the Canamex Corridor
  • Add secondary suites as either a permitted or discretionary use in certain specified districts (RA, RUF, LUF, GCR and HR)
  • Add medical marihuana production facilities as a use in the Rural General Industrial district
  • Add regulations for development and subdivisions adjacent to wetlands
  • Add additional regulations for the siting of solar collector farms
  • Revise Part 1 Section 18 regarding second residences
  • Revise Part 5, Section 4 of the Sign Regulations
  • Restrict the size of attached garages within the Hamlet Residential District
