Lethbridge County Gravel Road Bans Lifted

LETHBRIDGE COUNTY – Effective as of 4:00 pm on Monday April 3, 2017, Lethbridge County will be lifting the Road Ban Order issued on March 17, 2017, effective on gravel roads within the County.

“The County has lifted road bans on gravel roads at this time due to favourable conditions,” says Reeve Lorne Hickey.

Should conditions change, road bans may be reinstated. Up to date information is available on the County website at (www.lethcounty.ca).

To reduce stress on gravel roads at this time, the County is asking all heavy haulers to voluntarily reduce their speeds to 60 km.

This applies to all gravel roads within Lethbridge County. As noted in the road ban order on March 17, 2017, the majority of hard top roads remain banned to 75% load as defined in the Alberta Commercial Vehicle Dimension & Weight Regulation with some exceptions being banned to 50%.

If you see gravel roads being damaged, or are aware of roads with current damage, please contact the County immediately at the 24-hour Public Works Emergency line: (403) 634-0704.
